retreat will bring together community leaders from across Canada to focus on

Measuring Up Accessibility and Inclusion
Fund
The Province of BC is investing $2 million to
support community projects aimed at increasing accessibility and inclusion for
persons with disabilities. The Measuring Up Accessibility and Inclusion Fund,
managed by
2010
Legacies Now, will provide some 70 grants of up to $25,000 in support
of community projects aligned with the
Measuring Up
initiative and the Province’s
10 by 10
Challenge,
which aims to increase the employment of people with disabilities in BC by 10%
by 2010.

is an online community that connects youth to find
inspiration, access information, get involved, and take action in their

Future Search is a planning process
used around the world to achieve shared goals and fast action. Meeting
over three days, people tell stories about their past, present and
desired future, discovering their common ground through dialogue and
devising new forms of cooperative planning.
Marion Botsford Fraser was one of four finalists for the 2007 British
Columbia Award for Canadian Non-Fiction. Her book, Requiem for My
Brother, is a tribute to her brother Dave, who was diagnosed with
multiple sclerosis in 1992. In this poignant memoir the author describes
her brother’s illness and death, their deepening relationship, and the
enduring bond they forged on an epic canoe trip down the Coppermine
River.
